That sounds fun. I haven’t decided about EC yet, but if I do I can help.

cheers,

I’d like to know how many of you are likely to attend the EarthCube workshop in DC this June? I ask as I am contemplating holding a small data citation hackathon there since I’ve been hearing that the science community needs advice on that and folks in my EarthCube project have been egging me on to do it. The idea would be to discuss the ESIP guidelines for the first 30 min or so which I can do, then spend the next 60 min or so taking example data sets from the audience and working through creating a citation and providing advice on where to deposit data so that you can be assigned a DOI, and what information should be included so that the data actually is reusable (i.e., so others might actually reuse and cite it). I am thinking that it would be good to have a few people from this Committee in addition to myself there to help support that effort. Any takers?
