[Esip-sample-curation] AGU and Author Guidelines for Samples

Hi all,

Thanks to all who joined our cluster call yesterday.  I wanted to relay
some information we discussed about relevant AGU sessions, and next steps
for the author guidelines we have been working on.

Regarding AGU, there are a couple of sessions that some of us are convening
that involve physical samples - you may consider submitting a talk abstract
for, and/or could help advertise among your respective groups (abstract
submission due July 31):

   - IN036: Of Stations, Sites, Sensors, and Samples: Collaboration,
   Innovation, and Stewardship of Field-based Observations

Regarding the scientific author guidelines for sample-based research, we
are revising our original version and plan to publish a V2 on the ESIP
figshare (ideally submitting this Friday). Revisions are based on some
recent feedback. We then want to submit the V2 guidelines for ESIP
Endorsement. You can review and provide any additional comments or edits
(in suggesting mode) here

Please let me know if you need more time and we should hold off on
submitting V2 for publication. One thing that we could still use help on is
the introduction, and adding information on why the guidelines are useful
for specific audiences (e.g. field scientist, collection manager...)
