Hi folks,

This work of embedding linked data URIs in ISO is something BCO-DMO is very interested in. We are currently working on publishing ISO 19115-2 for our datasets and we plan on using gmx:anchor tags referencing RDF/XML.

Also, BCO-DMO, along with help from RPI/TWC grad students, is exploring how to provide tools for enabling co-reference resolution between entities that exist in disparate, unrelated linked data collections. Right now, we are working on a tool that uses Google Refine's Reconciliation API to identify similarity between two or more vocabularies. FOr us (and hopefully others), co-reference resolution techniques are really important especially for disambiguating entities like People, Organizations, etc. forenabling data discovery. I'd be interested to know if others are interested in making headway on this area.

cheers, Adam

I would like for this to become magically useful and I'm unaware of any development effort to follow the links from metadata to the semantic web... Would this be of interest to you and this group?

We have a session scheduled for Friday, July 11, during which we plan to discuss current and future semantics-oriented projects that are taking place around the Earth and Space Science communities. Tom and I would like to get a better sense for who is doing what, and where opportunities for collaboration might lie, etc. If you have a current project, or are planning a project, that involves semantics-oriented solutions for data management, data analytics, or anything else ITish, would you please send a brief (a few sentences is fine) description of your project to me at beth at lingualogica.net and cc my colleague, Amanda Ross at amanda at lingualogica.net. Thanks very much. We're looking forward to seeing everyone at ESIP!
