Subject: FW: SWEET Geospatial and Spatiotemporal components in SWEET

Hi Folks,
I am aiming to present SWEET Space elements and how they can be used/aligned with Linked Building Data at the next W3C Linked Building Data Community Group Telecon [0] taking place on 30 Oct 5PM CET [1].
I’ll forward details of the meeting to this email as a follow up.
Please see attachment for details on the building topology ontology which I plan to align with the Space related concepts in SWEET.

Hi Lewis,

Thanks a lot for bringing this up!

This SWEET ontology is indeed aligning quite closely with what we are doing at the LBD CG! Most notably BOT, which is about spatial topology in a building. The next telco call (30 Oct 5PM CET) will actually focus on that topic again. Would you be able to make it to that call? It would be useful if you could briefly introduce the SWEET ontology and potentially indicate how it relates to the the latest BOT discussions (see attached for the latest and greatest - LDAC Workshop Paper by Mads - http://linkedbuildingdata.net/ldac2017/). Also note the two main branches and issues in GitHub around BOT: https://github.com/w3c-lbd-cg/bot/branches. Sorry for advertising excessively :D

About "doing a bit of investigation", I would prefer that to take place in group in the above CG. It should also go via Mads in my opinion; he has the resources (doing the PhD - managing BOT).

NOTE: https://search.maven.org/#search%7Cga%7C1%7Cifctordf => this one is still at version 0.1. Any idea what could have gone wrong?

kind regards,

Pieter

Hi Pieter,
Recently the ESIP Semantic Technologies Committee has been reviving the SWEET Ontology Suite [0]. I am championing the effort. I’m considering submitting an abstract to the following session specifically on the work we have been doing.
Whilst I was thinking about this, I thought about you and the work you are doing within the W3C LBD WG.
Specifically in SWEET we have semantics which describe time, space, etc. and I think that some of these could possibly be utilized/aligned with the W3C LBD WG efforts.
Examples include semantics for space [1].
Let me know what you think if you are able to do s bit of investigation. Maybe I could present the SWEET concepts and possible application to LBD at a future Telecon?
Best
Lewis
