[esip-semantictech] SWEET paper

I think we need to clarify the scope of the proposed paper.
The special issue is on ontology engineering, so the focus should not be on SWEET per se.
Rather on the engineering decisions and use of patterns and practices.

In this vein, I think there are stories on the following:
- modularization
- use (or not) of external ontologies
- alignment to external ontologies
- versioning philosophy, past and present
- URI / namespace
- opaque vs memorable URIs
- OWL profile and expressivity
- classes vs individuals
- conceptual level
- inferring semantics from deep subsumption hierarchy ...
- documentation
- open development platform (GitHub process)

We also need to be very very clear that SWEET itself is a work-in-progress, so some of the propositions and recommendations are not (yet) executed.

Subject: [esip-semantictech] SWEET paper

All,
I've changed the subject line; hopefully that's helpful when email sifting. :)

I had been doing some preliminary work on the evolution of SWEET. Don't get excited, I didn't get very far---and if anyone wants to collaborate please ping me. I did compile a few summary statistics that might be helpful here. It's OWLAPI stuff for each version, nothing sexy (yet).

I'm not entirely sure if it would be useful here, but if there were some front matter explaining a bit of the history of SWEET, including why it's unique and how the engineering effort has morphed, that might provide a bit of contextual richness when describing the current effort.

I'm happy to share, but I wasn't sure where to share (and I'm trying to get away from gross email attachments) :).

So...where is this being compiled/discussed? Email, Github, Slack, Gitter, Loomio, Overleaf, Authorea...YATINALF (Yet Another Tool I'll Need A Login For)? I don't mind any, just trying to make sure I don't miss out. :)
