Hi Anne-
I was just reading the description of the session on ROI for data repositories and noticed that you have described a need for a new ESIP cluster conduct  a  landscape and gap analysis of environmental data repositories. I just wanted to let you know that this is partially contained in the EarthCube map of the landscape that we have been working on here<http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=9bde7150da474c828d61a5e67e98855d>. Also, when I was working on COOPEUS we developed a map of EU and US environmental research infrastructures that includes data facilities. Happy to point you to these resources and contribute as I can.
