[Esip_dmtraining] 2018 FY Budget request for DMT Working Group

Hello, everyone:

Thanks for your comments on the proposed budget categories.  I've combined
the requests for member travel into one request as I think we'd have a
better chance with two requests rather than 3 (travel is expensive these
days!).  The amount requested comes to about $8600 with $5K in requests for
developer support for enhancements to the DMTC.  Attached please find the
budget request based on the template for this year.  Comments / corrections
are welcome.  I'll submit on Tuesday.  Thanks for your interest and support.

 

Note that if the member travel request gets funded, we'll put out a call for
interest to the whole group to see who is interested in attending what
conference.  Fingers crossed, yes?

Hello, all:

I plan to submit a budget request for this working group in the next few
days, and would appreciate some feedback on items.  So far, the suggestions
that we've discussed in previous meetings have been for:

 

-          Enhancements to the DMT Clearinghouse (DMTC) for several items
including the inclusion of automatic link checking, adding a number of
additional capabilities to the Search function ,etc.  (developer support)

-          Member travel to an academic data librarian conference that is
not usually attended, e.g., ARL, ASIST, etc. 

-          Chair travel to the Science Gateway BootCamp to create a business
plan for the DMTC 

-          Member travel to a USGS CDI workshop or to AGU(?)

 

Anything else that anyone can think of?  Please let me know.  I'd like to
finalize the requests for working group member review over the weekend as
the requests are due next Tuesday.  Thanks for your input!
