[ESIP-AQ] [Reminder] ESIP Air Quality Cluster Telecon

Dear Cluster Participants,



This is a reminder that ESIP's Air Quality Cluster telecon is scheduled
tomorrow i.e. *Thursday* *April 28th 4pm ET / 1pm PT. *In the upcoming
telecon, we will have* Dr. Eri Saikawa* for a guest speaker talk on air
quality research challenges. This telecon will also be a great opportunity
to discuss and propose ideas for a cluster-led session at ESIP's upcoming
Summer Meeting to be held in Pittsburgh, PA.


Please find below more details on the upcoming telecon. We look forward to
exchanging exciting ideas with you all!



*Speaker Bio:*

Eri Saikawa is Associate Professor at Emory University in the Department of
Environmental Science and the Department of Environmental Health. She
conducts interdisciplinary research on the environment. She works on
diverse research areas, including: 1) atmospheric chemistry (modeling air
pollution, mainly fine particulate matter and tropospheric ozone, in Asia);
2) environmental health (measuring exposure in households due to indoor air
pollution and assessing the adverse health impacts due to ambient air
pollution); 3) biogeochemistry (modeling global soil reactive nitrogen
(Nr) emissions);
4) climate science (estimating emissions of non-CO2 greenhouse gases), 5)
environmental policy/politics (analyzing the impacts of environmental
standards and trade as well as analyzing policymaking processes); and 6)
heavy metal soil contamination.

*Tentative Agenda:*
- Invited speaker talk
- Planning for ESIP's Summer Meeting (brief proposals due 04/29)
- Planning an Air Quality session centered around Pittsburgh local
communities.
- Discussion on "Community Air Quality Toolkit" - a cluster-led initiative.
