Dear all,

If you would like to be listed as an author in the Figshare metadata for the “4 things you can do now to support Open Science for Earth Science samples<https://docs.google.com/document/d/13pLEqOKTDVCqYh9zpdDGuvWvCFlS208XKl66jC3LVi8/edit>” flyer, please add your name at the top of the document. The flyer itself will reflect general authorship by the Physical Samples Cluster.

Thank you,
Natalie

Dear Physical Samples Cluster,

The draft text of the “5 Things You Can Do to Cite Samples Now” flyer is available here<https://docs.google.com/document/d/13pLEqOKTDVCqYh9zpdDGuvWvCFlS208XKl66jC3LVi8/edit> for review. If possible, please provide feedback (via commenting or suggesting on the document) by end of day Wednesday (Oct 11). Feedback received after this time will be taken into consideration for the AGU 2023 version of this flyer.

To recap our discussion from the last cluster meeting, this text will be formatted into a flyer to be distributed at the Geological Society of America 2023 Fall Meeting (October 15-18, Pittsburgh, PA) and the American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting (Dec 11-15, San Francisco, CA). It will also be added to Zenodo so it is digitally accessible and has a DOI. The flyer content is designed to be a condensed and accessible version of the checklist found in the samples guidance paper (here<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BAQYAxZMlVCUPxtuA2iqe7s7xK_0bW9eqm3T-lcKRu4/edit>), and is targeted to earth scientists specifically.

Many thanks for your efforts on this, and looking forward to discussing at tomorrow’s cluster meeting.

Natalie
