[ESIP-all] The new Products and Services Committee

Dear Federation members,

The Products and Services Committee is becoming active again, following
a few years of inactivity.  There are many new projects and
opportunities that we can pursue, including:


1. An up-to-date, complete inventory of Federation data
products/services, to support access to the Federation collection as a
whole.

2. A skills database, describing resources available within the
Federation.

3. An inventory of Impact metrics as they relate to our products and
services.

4. A namespace (using XML/RDF/OWL) to support Federation-wide web
services.

the original Products & Services e-mail list from several years ago, you
will need to resubscribe.  

We will have monthly telecons.  Our suggested time is 3rd Tuesdays at
1pm PT (4pm ET).  Please let me know if that time is not suitable or if
there are additions to the above list of potential activities.
