This week, EPA is launching the Puget Sound Information Challenge during
its National Environmental Information Symposium in St. Louis (Nov.
14-16). This Challenge will last 2 days and has 2 goals:
(1) To utilize the resources at the Symposium to bring together and
deliver environmental information that will be useful to the Puget Sound
Partnership and
(2) to discover successes and obstacles in information access in order
to inform a National Dialogue that OEI is kicking off in January 2008 on
Improving Access to Environmental Information.

The Challenge will showcase Web 2.0 technologies and will demonstrate
the real benefits that GEOSS/IEOS can achieve. Background information on
the Puget Sound's problems can be found at this link:

A wiki site has been stood up as a major vehicle for collecting
information under the Challenge. ESIP Federation partners and friends
are encouraged to contribute information resources, knowledge, and ideas
to the wiki. Please feel free to share this information with colleagues
who might be interested and/or able to help.

The wiki is at: http://pugetsound.epageo.org
