The NASA Earth Science Data Systems (ESDS) Software Reuse Working
Group (WG) is pleased to announce that it is now accepting
nominations for its 2009 Peer-Recognition Software Reuse Award.
The Software Reuse WG has designed this award to recognize the
contributions and achievements of those people and projects whose
efforts in the area of software reuse further the work of NASA
Earth science research. There will be three categories for this
award -- contribution, utilization, and peer education -- which
will be given annually on or about Sept. 1, with the number of
awards given being based on the quality of the nominations received.
Any individual, team/group, or project that has contributed to the
practice of software reuse in Earth science is eligible for the
Reuse Award, and nominations are accepted from April 15 to July 31.
Self-nominations are allowed, with a letter of recommendation or
endorsement, so feel free to nominate your own projects for this
award. If you know of others who would be interested in this award,
please forward this message to them or direct them to our web site
(http://www.esdswg.com/softwarereuse/) for more information. For
additional information about the award please see the full award
process document at:
http://www.esdswg.com/softwarereuse/Resources/awards/reuse_award_process_v3.doc/view
A nomination form is included there, but is also available as a
separate document at:
http://www.esdswg.com/softwarereuse/Resources/awards/reuse_award_nomination_form.doc/view
Thank you for your time, and we look forward to receiving your
nominations!
