[ESIP-all] Technology Roundtable Kickoff - Next Wednesday 9/2 2pm EDT

Next week the ESIP Information Technology and Interoperability  
Committee will be hosting the first of several round-table discussions  
around a variety of technology issues, including (at least these are  
topics that have come up in our Committee discussions thus far).:

* Security and authentication needs and models for online data and  
services
* Servicecasting as a means of advertising web services
* Use of cloud computing in Earth science research and applications
* Data exchange services and models
* Social networks as a means for collaboration and information  
gathering/dissemination
* Mobile platform application development
* Facebook application development

These discussions will hopefully include brief presentations that  
relate to the topic, followed by a general discussion and information  
exchange. If you would like to volunteer or suggest presenters for any  
of these topics please contact me so that I can start filling slots  
for each topic.

Our first topic for next week's discussion will be "Security and  
authentication needs and models for online data and services" the Wiki
