Please be reminded that today is the last day for submitting abstracts 
to the Fall AGU Meeting and consider submitting an abstract for the 
following session.

IN30: Software Reuse and Open Source Software in Earth Science

Description: This session covers software reuse and open source software 
(OSS), focusing on experiences and challenges with reuse in Earth 
science. Topics may include: role of OSS in software reuse; designing 
for reuse; reuse of web services, service oriented architecture; theory; 
preparing, packaging, distributing assets; technology transfer; software 
release; reuse in software/data life cycles; reuse in new missions; 
lessons learned; defining metrics, measuring benefits, assessing 
reusability (e.g., Reuse Readiness Levels); creating/modifying assets 
for a new system/context/environment; methods for systematic reuse; 
reuse from other domains; best practices; case studies; education and 
public outreach; tools/mechanisms to support/enable reuse.
