I know that no one is thinking about July this morning, but the ESIP
Visioneers <http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/Visioneers> are meeting *today
at 2 PM EST*. The goal of the Visioneers is to make the ESIP meetings the
best, most productive, most memorable meetings on the planet. We will be
discussing the theme of the July 17-20, 2012 meeting in Madison, WI and

*News from Federation collaboration areas from the last week: *
* Geospatial Cluster <http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/Geospatial> had
their first call last week with a presentation from James Gallagher on the
release of OPeNDaP's Hyrax 1.8 server<http://www.opendap.org/download/hyrax>
.
* Semantic Web has a proposed ToolMatch collaboration to match data
collections with tools at:  http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/ToolMatch.

* The Partnership Committee met with the new members last week giving an

>From CIESIN: Announced at the World Economic Forum <http://www.weforum.org/> in
Davos, Switzerland, the 2012 Environmental Performance Index (EPI) produced
by CIESIN and Yale University’s Center for Environmental Law and Policy (
YCELP <http://envirocenter.research.yale.edu/>), in collaboration with the
World Economic Forum and the Joint Research Center in Ispra, Italy,
identifies Switzerland as first in addressing pollution control and natural
resource management challenges. Iraq is ranked last. The EPI has been
produced every two years since 2006. The 2012 EPI ranks 132 countries,
using 22 indicators in ten major policy categories including air and water
pollution, climate change, boidiversity, and forest management. Data sets
making up the EPI were contributed from the International Energy Agency,
remote sensing research groups at Battelle and University of Maryland, the
UN Food and Agriculture Organization, and other entities. To learn more,
