Hi Annette,

I suggest that you visit this website from NOAA, it has a nice
interactive tool for viewing historical temperature and precipitation
data: http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/research/cag3/cag3.html

Me and my team are collecting data from
ftp://ftp.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/ushcn/v2.5 and designing a SOAP
based WebService with a Graphical User Interface that would display
Monthly data for a selected US State. The data is averaged out across
all the weather stations in a given State. We are exposing the
following parameters currently:

1. Monthly Mean Min Temperature ('C)

2. Monthly Mean Max Temperature ('C)

3. Monthly Mean Average Temperature ('C)

4. Monthly Mean Precipitation (in.)

This is as part of Service Oriented Computing course’s class project
under Dr.Milton Halem at University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

If you need data in the form of Insert SQL statements, I will be happy
to share them with you.

Thanks,

Raghvendra Shruti Rao
