The nomination deadline for the AGU Leptoukh Lecture has been extended. AGU will now accept online nominations through April 30.

The goal of the Leptoukh Lecture is to recognize research, educational, or other accomplishments and the geoscience impact of this work. Advances in computation, instrumentation, and data handling facilitate many domain science advances. This award highlights the enabling capabilities of informatics as well as accomplishments of individual scientists. Thus, this award aims to raise awareness of the often-overlooked computational and data advances that enable breakthroughs in domain science, as well as foster exceptional individuals to make continued contributions in informatics and data science. The winner will receive a certificate, online recognition, and be invited to present a lecture at the American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting held in San Francisco in December 2014.

Nominations must include 1.) a nomination letter, 2.) two letters of support, and 3.) the nominee’s CV.

Please consider nominating a colleague and helping to advance data science and informatics.

All nominations can be submitted online: http://honors.agu.org/nominations/

Thanks,
