Dear colleagues,

This is a friendly reminder for the submission to the 11th International
Conference on Climate Informatics. *Extended abstracts and full paper
submissions are both due on 23:59 UTC 28 January 2022*. You can submit
either an extended abstract (2 pages) OR a full paper (8 pages max). More
information can be found below.

   - *Conference format survey: *To help the planning team plan for the
hybrid conference, we kindly ask you to fill out this *two-question
google form* whether you are planning to attend the conference in person
or virtually. (*Conference format preference survey
   <https://forms.gle/6ozViTEKqGX1bgreA>)*

   - *Special collection for accepted full papers: *Climate Informatics has
partnered with *Environmental Data Science* (EDS), a peer-reviewed
open-access journal published by Cambridge University Press (
cambridge.org/eds). All accepted full papers in CI2022 will be eligible
for publication in EDS. Costs of open access (OA) publication will be
covered by a combination of CUP’s institutional agreements (Read &
   Publish
   <https://www.cambridge.org/core/services/open-access-policies/read-and-publish-agreements>)
to support OA and the agreement between CI2022 and EDS.

*More about the conference*: The hybrid 11th International Conference on
Climate Informatics <https://ncics.org/news/events/ci2022> will be held in
Asheville, NC, by North Carolina Institute for Climate Studies
<http://ncics.org/> with support from National Centers for Environmental
Information <http://www.ncei.noaa.gov/> (9–13 May 2022). The deadline for
submitting extended abstracts (2 pages) AND full paper (8 pages max) are
extended to *23:59 UTC 28 January 2022. *More information about submission
templates and the submission systems can be found on the submission page
<https://ncics.org/news/events/ci2022/paper-submission/> (the updated
deadline will be updated over the weekend). You can choose to submit *either
an extended abstract or a full paper*. *Submission of full paper
does NOT require submitting an extended abstract first*. The difference
between the two types of submission is listed below.

   - If your submitted *full paper* *is accepted*, it will be immediately
published by *Environmental Data Science* after the conference *without
   additional review;*
   - If your submitted *extended abstract* *is accepted*, you will be
invited to submit your full paper to Environmental Data Science *with
additional review* by the journal before it can be published in the
   special collection for the conference.

We are looking forward to your participation!
