Greetings ESIP Disasters cluster—

Dave and I had a short conference call with David Green/NASA to discuss his invitation to ESIP to participate in the September DRR Summit in Buenos Aires. Attached are my first cut of notes and ideas discussed yesterday. Please, please add your ideas and interest in participating. I anticipate the possibility of sending a couple of ESIP representatives to help meet the goals of the summit and engage with partners for potential collaborative activities. Please note that the conference will be conducted in Spanish as well as English, as David is really seeking engagement with regional groups. If you have contacts in South America that might benefit from participation, please let them know.

Please feel free to add comments and ideas to the draft plan included in the notes, and please indicate your areas of interest. As this draft plan mainly reflects inputs and ideas from David and Dave, I have not yet included the ideas discussed last week at our monthly telecom. Please feel free to add your ideas, and I’ll be following up with those who indicated interest as well.

Again, my goal is to get a final recommendation to David out next week, mid June. Thanks for your interest!
Karen
