Hi all,

I am happy to report that today's breakout session for ACDD achieved some closure on the specification:
* We addressed (sometimes by taking no action) all remaining open issues
* We recommended to the full Documentation Cluster an adoption vote procedure to complete the vote before the winter meeting
* We recommended to the full Documentation Cluster that only major concerns be considered from this point forward.
* We concluded the ESIP Documentation list was the appropriate list to handle future ACDD questions.
There is one open (minor) question about the organization of the attributes, but the content itself was approved.

The recommended procedure for the adoption vote is:
1) Hold a very brief initial adoption vote at the Documentation Cluster meeting 1 week from today (Dec 18)
2) If consequential issues are raised, do not discuss them at that meeting; instead, defer the adoption process, if a positive vote is not possible.
3) Assuming a positive vote occurs at the Dec 18 meeting, hold an on-line adoption vote via Doodle, to allow further participation.
4) Leave the Doodle adoption vote open for 2 weeks, at which time conclude the adoption vote process and tally the results.

The changes agreed today have been updated as version 1.3.6 on the ACDD page; and notes from today and the November Documentation Cluster have been updated on the wiki:
* ACDD version 1.3.6: http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/Attribute_Convention_for_Data_Discovery_1-3
* Today's ACDD meeting: http://commons.esipfed.org/ACDD_1-3_Adjudication_Mtg_4_20141211
* Last month's Documentation Cluster notes: http://commons.esipfed.org/node/7289
Thanks to Anna and Kelly for your notes, and Anna for the attribute index! (http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/Attribute_Convention_for_Data_Discovery_1-3#Index_by_Attribute_Name)

Obviously comments may still be sent to the list about these results, since not everyone was on the breakout call. The recommendations to the Documentation Cluster can be handled as desired on the call next week

If no issues come up, we look forward to beginning the adoption vote process next Thursday, at the usual time (2 PM ET, 11 AM PT = AGU time).

John
