Bob,

Thanks for pinging me again. I am now realizing I did not respond to your last question… sorry…

Overlap with CF and ACDD - I agree that many of the elements in CF and ACDD will likely also appear in the FAIR recommendation. That reflects the overlap between the two use cases… If the FAIR recommendation includes some elements that are not in CF or ACDD - the people that govern those conventions may want to consider adding them…

Where the metadata content goes - depends on the data management details - 
	if HDF/netCDF: could go in file (need conventional attribute names). 
	If not: probably in separate file…
	In all cases, DataCite metadata are in a separate system, maybe never in a file per se. Might ncDataCite be helpful? or ISO -> DataCite transform (exists at NCEI).
