*My apologies for cross-posting.*
To bring together global SMEs on the quality of datasets or data products
to initiate the development of community guidelines for consistently
curating and representing dataset quality information (DQI) in a way that
is in line with the FAIR principles, a one-day virtual workshop was held
on Monday July 13, 2020, followed by a report-out session on Wednesday July
22, 2020, during the virtual Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) 2020
Summer Meeting (SM20), July 14 – 24, 2020.
On behalf of the Pre-ESIP Workshop Organizing Committee, I am happy to
share with you the workshop summary report, which can be accessed here
<https://osf.io/75b92>. Please let me know if you have any trouble
accessing it – Given the large number of people on the BCC list, please do
not use “Reply All” when replying to this email.
Appreciate any suggestions you may have. Feel free to send me your
information if you have attended the workshop and/or the ESIP SM20
report-out session and would like to be included in the attendees list.
Thanks again for your interest and participation in this effort – please
let me know if you are not able to sign up for the ESIP FAIR DQI Community
Guidelines Working Group but would like to be a part of it to contribute to
the development.
We will continue to update you on the progress. In between, you can find
relevant dataset quality information here
<https://wiki.esipfed.org/FAIR_Dataset_Quality_Information>. The Pre-ESIP
Workshop website can be accessed here
<https://wiki.esipfed.org/Pre-ESIP_Workshop>.
Best regards,
--- Peng
On behalf of the workshop organizing committee (Ge Peng, Carlo Lacagnina,
