Thought this would be of interest to some in our group, if you haven't heard about this yet!

APOLOGIES to those who get this message twice or even three times.
I sent this notice to the EarthCube End-User Group Petrology & Geochemistry (only 23 members so far in that group) and to the EarthCube Special Interest Group for Samples in Cyberinfrastructure, but I wanted all participants of the P&G workshop to receive it as well as those who registered but could not make it.

Due to the interest in information about SESAR and the IGSN expressed at the EarthCube P&G workshop, we have set up a webinar, during which we will provide an overview of the IGSN (www.igsn.org<http://www.igsn.org/>) and the System for Earth Sample Registration (www.geosamples.org<http://www.geosamples.org/>). We will demonstrate how you can register your samples, how you can use the IGSN and SESAR to manage, cite, and track your samples and how your sample registration will contribute to building a global sample catalog.
