Matt,

I have gone over the article and it looks good to me. Nice job! Good luck.

Rama.

Subject: [Esip-preserve] Data Op-Ed - WaPo?

Hi all,
We had some additional discussion of the data Op-Ed idea in yesterday's call. Science and Nature do not have good open access options, so I'm ruling them out. But after the call, I had a bout of something, hopefully inspiration, and took another pass at the op-ed, after looking at the Washington Post submission guidelines, for which 750 words is about the max.

I did the following edit down to just over 800 words. Any comments are very welcome. The first paragraph is mostly new, but after that, it is mostly simplification of the previous draft.

For your info, here is the previous version that was submitted to NYT and declined:

As before, please also send any comments or concerns you might have about doing such a publication in the first place.

Best,

Matt
