[esip-semanticweb] Mapping between CLEAN and SWEET or GCMD

We have done quite a bit of work in crosswalks between vocabularies,
including GCMD.

A map with links to ontologies is at

http://iri.columbia.edu/~benno/dlfigure.svg

with blue being Models, Red being crosswalks, and Green Instances

As for OWL vs SKOS, It is funny you should ask that. We have a SKOS-like
vocabulary we call iriterms (left side of map), which has a property
term:isDescribedBy which connects items to the terms that they are
described by. In Owl, that property is rdf:type, i.e. the terms are
classes and instances belong. The original SKOS had such a property, but I
was under the impression they had deprecated it, convincing me they were
not serious about using their systems for anything. Perhaps you could
straighten me out?
