Hello Madison and Group,



It was a pleasure to meet you and the group yesterday. 45 minutes went past
so quickly! I apologize for having to transition to another commitment.



Here is a quick recap of the key points:



Who controls recognition taxonomies?

Rescognito is a service provider and by necessity we include some
standardized and preliminary taxonomies. However, we envision that
recognition taxonomies will be controlled by research organizations or
external standards groups. It is not the objective of Rescognito to author
such taxonomies.



How is the level of COGs determined?

Default settings are included in our proof of concept. Again, in due course
we envision that recognition levels would be set and controlled by external
research organizations, or groups of research organizations.



How do organizations interact with Rescognito?

We provide a secure administrator interface so that research organizations
can control and manage recognition options and authorize individuals.



How is Rescognito sustainable and how will continued access to data be
ensured?

Right now, Rescognito is a start-up and funded by me. I have a track-record
of commitment to research workflow and a long-term outlook. As a service
provider, we anticipate that our costs will be covered by customers using
services. Customers are free to export data from Rescognito, and in due
course we plan to store recognition data in a blockchain for persistence.



Can checklists be driven by metadata – e.g. specific checklists for
software etc.?

Yes, this is on our development path. Services like DataCite provide a
“type” identification in their JSON metadata so the display of different
checklists based on type identification is very feasible. Using the same
methodology, checklists can be configured for DOIs issues by specific
organizations.



I would like to emphasise that Rescognito's objective is to be a “back
office” service provider to research organizations so that those
organizations can quickly and easily deploy innovative recognition
workflows.
