Hi Ted

I too appreciate your effort in putting this together and in making it accessible.

I have sent your Zenodo link to a few groups in Australia and common feedback is on how valuable it is.

I think there is now a lot of work going on with people trying to get ‘honourable mentions’ (aka Mark’s concept of movie credits) for a contribution to a data set. In part this is being also driven by funders wanting to track uptake, usage and impact of their investments.

Thanks for the kind words. The work by Shotton and Peroni is another list of over 100 items. I admit that it seemed daunting… As usual, deciding on the level of detail is critical… I think CRediT is being considered as a starting point because it is so simple. Unfortunately, once you start down the simple path it is difficult to switch to a more complex path…

Thanks for publishing it on Zenodo. I can see it took a very significant effort to put this together. I counted nearly 120 rows in the table (can’t vouch for accuracy of count!). But it is clear that “it takes a village” (may be “it takes a city”) to get the “data job” done.
