[Esip-citationguidelines] Contributor Roles Crosswalk

Roberto,

Thanks for the information. I agree that these are important roles.

I think if we are trying to create a general list of roles, including the “context” in the actual role may make things more difficult. In this case, the context is “Software”. 

Might some of these roles apply in other contexts without “Software” in the name? For example, I think Documentation could be an important role for datasets as well as for software. In that case, the context would be provided by the resource type. So, if I was looking at metadata for software, I would understand that documentation = software documentation. If I was looking at metadata for a dataset, I would understand that documentation meant dataset documentation.

Does that make sense?
