Hi Diana, all,
I am co-PI of a recent NSF Research Coordination Network (RCN) grant
focused on PIDs for facilities and instruments. We are still in early
phases, but are planning to dig into the benefits and drawbacks of using
RRIDs vs DOIs for instruments and facilities. Anita B. is on our project's
advisory group. We were already planning to organize a session on this
topic for the summer ESIP meeting, so if others are interested, I'd be
happy to talk more and work together on a session.
