Meeting Venue and Lodging
The meeting will take place on the campus of the University of
Wisconsin-Madison. Most meeting activities will take place in the Pyle
Center, one of the University's conference facilities located at 702
Langdon Street, Madison WI 53706. Wireless Internet will be provided
throughout the conference.

Lodging for the conference will be provided by the University in the
Barnard Residence Hall. Barnard Residence Hall offers both single
occupancy rooms and a limited number of double occupancy rooms. A single
gender bathroom is conveniently located on each floor and includes
private shower areas. Guests may use the kitchen, lounge area and
laundry facilities at their convenience. On-site desk services are
provided at the main entrance. The first floor lounge provides a
television, computer and piano for use during your free time. Barnard
Hall is in walking distance to all of the ESIP meeting events.

Barnard Residence Hall is located at 970 University Avenue, Madison WI
53706, 608-890-1645 (front desk). To book your campus hotel room, visit:
www.housing.wisc.edu/summer_conferences and go to the area for online
reservations. The rate for staying in the Residence Hall is:

$161.25 per person single occupancy (this rate is for 4 nights' lodging
& cannot be prorated)
$107.25 per person double occupancy (this rate is for 4 nights' lodging
& cannot be prorated)

The rate includes a daily breakfast at Gordon Commons and is offered as
a package only. No refunds or prorating will be made for evenings of
lodging that are missed. Rooms are available beginning Monday, July 16

Rental cars are discouraged, as the campus is not capable of handling
extra parking. If you choose to stay at an offsite hotel, you will be
responsible for your own transportation to and from the campus for
meeting activities. Airport transportation is available, free of charge,
if you provide the details of your arrival and departure to us with your
registration.

Getting There
Madison (MSN) is easily accessible from many hub airports across the
country. Some may choose to fly to Chicago and/or Milwaukee and drive to
Madison.

Proposing Sessions for July 19
We are asking for your best ideas for sessions on Thursday, July 19.
Anything goes in terms of topics - just be prepared to lead a discussion
rather than give a presentation (no LCDs are allowed in the breakout
rooms!). We expect this structure to lead to greater interaction among
meeting attendees. There has been a lot of interest in offering
sessions, many of which are not yet recorded on the wiki. We are
departing from past meeting structure to allow for more partner input
into the meeting. The attached Call for Sessions document outlines how
the day will run, what to expect and how you propose a session for the
program. We think this structure will give meeting attendees access to
ideas and issues that they care most about. Visit the ESIP Federation
<http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/Session_Topics_Proposal_Page> wiki to
keep informed about what is being proposed or to propose a session
yourself. Feel free to sign up for any sessions that interest you.
Deadline for proposing a session is June 1.

Please feel free to direct any questions to my attention or to Karl
Benedict (kbene at edac.unm.ed, Technical Workshops) or Bruce Caron
(bruce at tnms.org, Open Meeting Questions). I look forward to seeing you
in Madison.
