Dear colleagues,

We invite you to submit an abstract for session #IN-028: Knowledge Networks and Collaborative Platforms in the Earth Sciences" at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) meeting on 3-7 December 2012 in San Francisco. This session is part of the Earth and Space Science Informatics track.

Session Description:
"Earth science research requires infrastructures that can support knowledge integration on large scales. These systems must combine technical capabilities with organizational techniques for coordinating numerous projects and groups, often across institutional boundaries. This session will discuss novel uses of cyberinfrastructure to facilitate collaboration, community building, governance, or knowledge sharing. Possible submissions topics include: (a) hubs or forges for Earth science software development, particularly if they integrate multiple projects, (b) knowledge sharing platforms deploying social networking tools, and (c) portals designed to promote community participation in integrating models, data, or knowledge."
