EPA’s Smart City Air Webinar – Data Use in Community Air Quality Projects!

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is conducting a webinar entitled “U.S. EPA: Smart City Air Challenge Webinar - Data Use in Community Air Quality Projects.” It will be held on September 14, 2017, at 12 p.m., EDT. Tune in as our speakers describe how they use data from air quality sensors to understand local environmental conditions.

This webinar is one in a series of webinars<https://developer.epa.gov/smart-city-air-challenge-webinar-series/> to help communities manage data from air quality projects. The webinars are keeping up the momentum of the Smart City Air Challenge, which encourages communities to deploy hundreds of air quality sensors and make the resulting data open to the public. Local governments partnered with sensor manufacturers, data management companies, and others to create strategies for collecting and using the data. EPA awarded $40,000 each to two communities, Baltimore, Maryland, and Lafayette, Louisiana, and other communities are proceeding with their projects. The awards were based on their strategies, including their plans to share their data management methods so others can benefit.
