[Esip-dds] DDS telecon today, 3:00 ET

Hi all,

We have a telecon today at 3:00 ET, coordinates are below.  Our wiki

  Please take a look.  Chris and I created a new, hopefully better, 
outline and have been fleshing it out.

The most basic change is that we tried to reorient the perspective this 
way:  People already know about many of the the technological trends 
impacting science.  Knowledgeable people have been warning us for some 
time that we must address these issues.   Even though organizations have 
tried, the rate of change is so much greater than our efforts that we 
are losing ground.  The July panel discussion of experts was a current 
reiteration of the problem and, essentially, an endorsement of a DDS as 
an avenue to a solution.

Today we'll discuss that approach and the outline.  We are hoping to get 
a few volunteers to sign up to flesh out portions.

When we're ready we have the opportunity to have RENCI's in-house 
writers make a pass over it, so we can, to some extent, hand off 
smoothing, word smithing, etc. tasks.

Thanks for hanging in with us!   I know progress has been in fits and 
starts, but persistence will pay off.
