Dear Hampapuram,

Great news! Your Abstract for SciDataCon 2016 titled Ensuring and Improving Information Quality for Earth Science Data and Products – Role of the ESIP Information Quality Cluster with Submission ID 52 has been accepted for an oral presentation! The organisers of the session will contact you soon to confirm your participation and the details of the session.

Reviewers made the following comments and suggestions:

The cluster focuses on earth system science data from observing systems. Described community standards, structures, and principles might not easily serve as a template for a wider range of data types. Nevertheless, the topic is addressed in depth thus providing valuable input for the session.

This well-written paper describe the motivation for purpose of the Information Quality Cluster of the Federation of Earth Science Information Partners. The description of the types of quality offers an introduction to the topic of data quality and the described activities offer insight into the current state of work on data quality. It appears to be applicable to the session.

The IQC has defined 4 dimensions of quality, which really encompass all facets of good data management. The authors review several rubrics for quality assessment but don't say how these could be harmonized or indicate how the IQC would go about establishing a baseline of standards for data quality.
